Custom Song Request Terms

Effective October 31, 2026. Submitting a request is not a purchase. Price, delivery date, revisions and payment terms are confirmed in writing before any order is accepted.

1. Requests and acceptance

You may request a personalized song from Jeff Skeens AKA Kentucky or Lil' Honey Badger. Kentucky Roots Music may accept, decline, or ask for more information. Submitting a request does not guarantee a song or deadline.

2. What an accepted order includes

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, one accepted order includes original lyrics inspired by your story and one complete MP3 recording for $49.99. An optional second musical version is $10 more, bringing the two-version package to $59.99. The alternate version may differ in melody or arrangement. One round of minor factual or lyrical corrections is included; an additional minor revision round costs $10 if accepted, while major rewrites require a separate quote. CD, artwork, video and other extras are separately quoted.

3. Submitted stories and permissions

You confirm you have permission to share the story, names, memories and any other supplied materials, and that your submission does not knowingly violate others' intellectual property or privacy rights. Please do not submit highly sensitive personal, financial, or medical information. You permit us to use your submission and to share it with production service providers as needed to assess and fulfill the request.

4. Creative process

Our work combines original human creative contributions with music production tools that may include generative AI. Exact vocal, melody, arrangement and style results are not guaranteed. We do not agree to copy copyrighted songs or unauthorized artist voices.

5. Payment and delivery

The request form collects no payment. The listed package prices are subject to written confirmation of scope and any additional requests. We will provide an individual quote and estimated completion date if we accept the project. Work begins only after we agree on the order terms and payment is received through PayPal. If a pre-delivery preview is offered, it may be a limited or marked excerpt; complete clean files are provided after payment and final review. A requested event date is not guaranteed unless confirmed.

6. Revisions, cancellations and refunds

One round of minor factual or lyrical corrections is included in the standard package. Extra minor revision rounds are $10 each if approved. Major rewrites, changes of story or changes of musical direction require a separate quote. Cancellation terms and refund conditions will be specified in your quote before payment. Unlimited revisions are not included. Applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.

7. Use and rights

After full payment, unless separately agreed, you receive a nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the delivered songs for personal, noncommercial enjoyment and sharing with family or friends. Commercial release, paid advertising, monetized distribution and resale require a separate agreement. Kentucky Roots Music retains rights in its own copyrightable contributions, if any, subject to third-party rights and applicable law. Some AI-generated material may not be copyright protected.

8. Privacy and publicity

Your story and contact information will be used to evaluate, communicate about and fulfill your request. We will not intentionally publish your story or custom song as promotional material without separate permission. Email and music production services may process data needed to deliver the service.

9. Agreement

By checking the required agreement box and submitting your request, you acknowledge these terms. A separate written quote and purchase agreement will govern any paid commission. For questions, email [email protected].
